Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program – a yearlong professional learning opportunity and short-term exchange for elementary, middle, and high school educators from the United States to develop skills to prepare students for a competitive global economy. Rachid El Machehouri is my assigned Moroccan host teacher for the upcoming IREX Fulbright International Field Experience.
My assigned Moroccan host teacher, Rachid El Machehouri, shared a video of what student engagement looks like in his Moroccan classroom. Rachid has previously participated in the Teacher Exchange Program, and visited Arizona State University.

Global Education 101 – a new self-paced, open online course designed for teachers and by teachers, and program sponsored by the U. S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), with funding provided by the U. S. Government and administered by IREX. bit.ly/GlobalEd101

Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Research Program (Fulbright DA) – provides an opportunity for K-12 educators from the United States to conduct research and engage in other professional learning experiences abroad for three to six months. Participants work on individual inquiry projects on a topic relevant to education in the United States and the host country, take courses at a host university, and collaborate with colleagues an educational practices to improve student learning. http://www.irex.org/fulbright-da

Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Short-Term Program for U. S. Teachers – sends expert U. S. K-12 educators to participating countries to support projects in schools, teacher training colleges, government ministries, or educational nongovernmental organizations, as identified by U. S. Ecology Project International – enables students and teachers to participate in current research projects in the United States and abroad. http://www.ecologyproject.org

Earthwatch Institute – links volunteers with scientific research projects focused on conservation around the world. Scholarships are available for both teachers and students. http://www.earthwatch.org

Several Betty H. Fairfax High School students and teachers visited Wako High School in Japan during an EF Educational Tour in 2019. We learned so much about Asian culture and their education system!
